JP Movie Night x Fair Tourism: KIVA - The Call of the Wisdom Keepers
Join us for an inspiring evening organised by Fair Tourism and The Hague Humanity Hub, as part of the Just Peace Movie Night series.
On July 1, we will screen KIVA - The Call of the Wisdom Keepers: a powerful documentary by Dutch director Marijke Kodden. Through inspiring conversations with participants of an indigenous KIVA ceremony, an ancient ritual already practiced by Native American (Ancestral Puebloan) peoples 3000 years ago, the film explores the restorative potential of indigenous principles in mending humanity's relation to the Earth.
From reciprocity and responsibility to respect and regeneration, the indigenous values highlighted throughout the film encourage both existential reflection and practical transformation, bringing us all closer to environmental balance and stability.
Following the screening, we will reflect on the importance of indigenous wisdom in tackling today's global challenges through a moderated panel discussion in collaboration with Fair Tourism.
Speakers
- Marijke Kodden - filmmaker and photographer, director of KIVA
- Carola Esparza - Wisdom Keeper, Mapuche-descent (Chile)
- Charlotte Louwman-Vogels - founder of Fair Tourism
We will announce the rest of the speakers and the moderator soon!
