Lecture: Why do wars exist - and is world peace possible?
- Date: 25 April

- Location: Bibliotheek Loosduinen

According to some, it is in man's nature to fight. According to others, it is due to the pursuit of power or money, religion, dictators or other causes. In recent years, the number of wars has increased. Why is that? And what can we do about it?
Benjamin Duerr has worked as a journalist in dozens of countries and now deals with wars and peace as a writer, diplomat and lawyer. He engages in conversations across the country and is regularly in the media. His latest book, “The Dream of The Hague,” is about The Hague as a city of peace and justice and was shortlisted for the Libris History Prize. Duerr shows that despite the tensions in the world, we should not lose hope.
Join us on a journey through world politics, history and psychology in search of the causes of wars. And what options we have to put an end to them.
