Joachim Koops

Joachim A. Koops is a professor of Security. His research revolves around the theme of Global Security Governance. For example, he studies the foreign and security policy of the European Union and the role of the United Nations, the European Union and NATO (and their interrelationships) in time of peace and security. He also focuses on topics such as crisis management, peacekeeping, the responsibility to protect civilians (R2P) and the changing role of diplomacy. Administratively, Koops is interested in strengthening interrelationships in the academic field and innovation and renewal of higher education.
